HydraFacial: The Perfect Spring Skin Treatment for Brides-To-Be
If you haven’t tried the HydraFacial yet, you’ve probably heard of it. Loved by celebrities and dermatologists alike for its ability to clean out pores and calm inflammation, the Hydrafacial gets quite a bit of buzz. It’s performed somewhere in the world every fifteen seconds. What sets the HydraFacial apart from traditional facials?
While some facials can be too harsh for people with sensitive skin, all skin types tolerate the HydraFacial well — from oily and acne-prone to dry and mature skin. It’s non-invasive, and the risk of experiencing any negative side effects is very low. The HydraFacial is ideal for almost anyone struggling with clogged pores, blackheads, and acne.
At Sacred Hour, our HydraFacials are our most results-driven facials. Our HydraFacials treat the face, neck, and body to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate your skin. You’re left with an instant, radiant glow. It’s the perfect treatment to get brides-to-be glowing before their big day.
So how exactly does it work?
What Is a HydraFacial and How Does It Work?
HydraFacial’s “vortex technology” was invented in 1997, and the system has improved over time. The HydraFacial is performed by a device rather than by hand like traditional facials. This method allows for deeper penetration and long-lasting results.
The HydraFacial wand is a medical-grade hydradermabrasion device that delivers a three-part regimen using a unique vortex technology. Don’t let the word “hydradermabrasion” intimidate you — the HydraFacial method of resurfacing is gentler than traditional microdermabrasion.
The HydraFacial combines the benefits of exfoliation, extraction, and hydration in one quick treatment. At Sacred Hour, we can treat your face, neck, and body. The treatment’s three steps are designed to cleanse, resurface, extract, and hydrate your skin.
CLEANSING
First, the HydraFacial wand cleanses the skin to remove stubborn traces of makeup and impurities. Next, a serum containing ingredients like salicylic and glycolic acids removes dead skin cells. Your skin looks brighter and more even in minutes.
EXTRACTION
After exfoliating, the HydraFacial wand uses gentle suction to extract impurities, blackheads, and whiteheads from your skin. Extraction with HydraFacial’s vortex technology is painless and leaves your skin looking clearer. You can even see the dirt, debris, and dead skin cells that make your skin look dull collect in the HydraFacial waste tank — gross, but so satisfying.
HYDRATION
The final step is hydration. Your skin is infused with a custom serum that includes nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants. This serum delivers a powerful surge of hydration to your skin, leaving it feeling smooth, supple, and radiant.
One of the many perks of a HydraFacial is little to no downtime after your treatment. Some people may experience a bit of redness, but most can expect to see plump, calm, glowing skin immediately after.
You can go about your day as normal post-HydraFacial, but try to avoid workouts or activities that make you sweaty for the first 24 hours. Wait a couple of days before resuming your retinoids. And be sure to wear SPF — every day, not only after your HydraFacial!
Consistency is the best way to see your desired results with HydraFacial treatments. For long-term skin health, we recommend making HydraFacials part of your monthly skincare routine. Brides-to-be can schedule a HydraFacial treatment every 4 weeks starting a few months before their wedding day.
What Are the Benefits of a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial’s results go beyond what traditional facials can do. HydraFacials can improve skin conditions that traditional facials can’t address. They’re amazing for eliminating common signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. They can clean oily skin with congestion and clogged pores and can minimize enlarged pores. If you struggle with acne, HydraFacials are an excellent way to supplement your skincare routine.
If your skin is dull and dry, you’ll see immediate improvement thanks to exfoliation and intense hydration. If your skin is uneven and textured, you’ll notice an improvement in your overall evenness and skin tone. A HydraFacial can even improve hyperpigmentation and reduce the appearance of acne scars.
Our skin is exposed to pollution and contaminants on a daily basis that our at-home skincare just can’t remove. The HydraFacial is a gentle-yet-effective option for anyone wanting to improve the overall health and appearance of their skin.
Who Shouldn’t Get a HydraFacial?
While all skin types are suited for HydraFacials, you should avoid the treatment while you have an active rash, sunburn, or rosacea. You may need to tweak your current skincare routine prior to your treatment. If you’re taking Accutane or using retinoids, discontinue them for one week prior to your HydraFacial.
Prenatal guests should also skip HydraFacials since some of the ingredients used — like salicylic acid — haven’t been proven safe to use during pregnancy.
Guests who have a contact shellfish allergy will want to avoid HydraFacials since an ingredient used in one of the treatment steps contains shellfish extract.
