Our Specialty & Holistic Wellness Lounge Rituals
We believe that wellness is more than care for the body. As a wellness lounge and spa, we invite you to visit us to restore harmony within the mind, spirit, and self.
The body and mind are closely linked, and prolonged mental overexertion, stress, and fatigue can significantly affect your physical health. That’s why it’s important to take a holistic approach to your wellness routine. Taking care of your body alone doesn’t determine its overall health.
Sacred Hour is Cleveland’s premier destination for whole-person restoration. Our staff members are passionate about making our space somewhere you can forget the outside world exists and turn your focus inward to the self. We’ve carefully crafted an elevated atmosphere through an elegant, calming interior design, a breadth of soothing sensory experiences, and immersive amenities that you won’t find at other spas in Northeast Ohio.
Consider booking a weekday ritual or day pass so you can enjoy our wellness lounge on your own schedule, honoring your pace and natural rhythm of life. We want rest and renewal to always be accessible and easy for you to align with your spirit’s current needs.

Why Whole-Self Care Heals More Deeply
Most spas emphasize whole-body rejuvenation to help guests feel better physically. The Sacred Hour commitment to whole-person wellness goes beyond traditional spa services. Our wellness lounge and holistic spa rituals blend physical and spiritual healing, forming a pathway to embodied calm.
The spiritual healing aspect of our rituals, or what we call the soul of wellness, involves connection, breath, and awareness. Together, they make it possible to fully realign your body, mind, and spirit and reach a place of wholeness within yourself.
Connection
At our wellness lounge, connection begins with sensory grounding techniques and may take several forms, depending on your needs in the moment. We encourage you to:
- Focus on the soothing effect of essential oils
- Slow the tempo of your thoughts to match the soft, calming background music
- Reflect and hold lightly as you savor herbal tea or spa water
- Envision a new inner calm while you watch the candles glow in your service room
- Imagine the sauna’s heat melting away stress as it warms your skin
The purpose is to become centered in the present moment, quieting the noise and overstimulation of the outside world, so that your inner voice may re-emerge clearly and confidently.
Breath
The practice of breath in ritual means to breathe in a way that is slow, steady, and intentional. This kind of breathing releases tension in the body and activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
What is the Parasympathetic Nervous System?
Your parasympathetic nervous system is a network of nerves that relaxes your body after periods of stress or danger. It also helps run life-sustaining processes, like digestion, during times when you feel safe and relaxed.

Awareness
Once you’ve relaxed your body and allowed your inner voice to reclaim your headspace, it’s time to listen closely to yourself and relearn to trust what your body and spirit are telling you. This will allow you to gain a greater awareness of your own needs and thresholds for physical and mental strain, which will help decrease burnout in the long run.
It’s also useful to be aware of what rituals and sensory grounding techniques resonate deepest with you. With this knowledge, our practitioners can tailor your experience according to what encourages the most healing for you personally.
Our Specialty & Holistic Wellness Lounge Rituals
Each of our unique and integrative offerings reflects our belief in holistic healing. They’re more intricate than typical spa services, transcending surface-level care to support harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.

Hot/Cold Contrast Therapy
Keeping the body from homeostasis—a state of system balance—for short periods of time is a way to naturally improve physical resilience, adaptability, circulation, and the capacity to self-regulate over time. Hot/cold contrast therapy is a gentle way to achieve this temporary system disruption for better internal balance in the long term.
At Sacred Hour, it begins with either a cold plunge or cold shower. This therapy activates the sympathetic nervous system, enhances immunity, and reduces inflammation.
Sauna therapy benefits you in other ways, too. It can:
- Help your circulatory system function more efficiently
- Purge the skin and body of impurities
- Release muscle tension
You can take advantage of the sauna and cold plunge/shower with a membership, by booking a service that includes amenities, or by purchasing a day pass.
Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle detoxification therapy that boosts energy and vitality. Your practitioner will use slow, rhythmic movements to encourage the smooth flow of lymph fluid and the release of toxins. Lymphatic drainage also improves blood circulation, bloating, swelling, and overall stress reduction.
Korean Scrub
Our Korean scrub therapy is beneficial for the skin, internal systems, and the spirit, making it a true holistic ritual. It begins with a warm rain shower, then flows into a meditative pour of hot water and a vigorous scrub, using traditional mitts to shed layers of impurities. The experience ends with a cleansing soap treatment, leaving your skin noticeably softer and revitalized.
Want to share the ritual with a partner or group of friends?
Our practitioners can also take couples or groups through Korean scrub therapy in a private suite. For this group whole-body treatment, we recommend spending 20-30 minutes in the sauna beforehand. Your therapy will include a warm soak, vigorous mitt exfoliation, circulation-boosting massage, detoxifying rinse, and hydration.
Organic Skincare
Our tried-and-true skincare will leave your skin glowing, refined, and restored even below the surface. Treatments are designed using high-integrity products with healing botanicals and delivered with intentional technique. Many of our favorite skincare products are available for purchase in our boutique so you can extend the spa-fresh feeling between visits. Dive deeper into our facials and skincare methodology.
Yoga & Aufguss
Come relax and restore yourself communally at our yoga and Aufguss events. Yoga classes are held five days a week for one hour. Aufguss—an Eastern European sauna ritual—is held once a month in a safe, supportive environment.
During Aufguss, relax into sauna therapy benefits like detoxification, improved circulation, heightened mental clarity, reduced stress, and tension relief. Those who attend Aufguss may access the cold plunge, salt lounge, and lockers. Both community experiences are open to guests of any gender.
Can’t make any of our yoga class times?
We also offer private class bookings to fit your schedule so that you can explore yoga’s healing and strengthening powers no matter your current rhythm of life.

Wellness in Every Season
As Cleveland’s destination wellness lounge, Sacred Hour lends a sanctuary for every season.
In autumn, it’s a place of grounding; in winter, warmth. In the spring, Sacred Hour is somewhere to inspire renewal, and in the summer, to reawaken vitality.
Founded on deep care, belonging, and respect for the individual, it’s also a sanctuary that accommodates your personal seasons of change, whatever the timing may be. It’s a space where you’ll be met wherever you are and feel like you’ve come home.
If your spirit craves quiet and stillness, we recommend arranging your stay between Monday and Wednesday when fewer guests are booking, giving you greater tranquility and added space to stretch and unwind.
Wholeness Awaits You at Our Wellness Lounge
Holistic wellness isn’t a trend at Sacred Hour, but a revered way of life. It’s a return to alignment through mindful rituals of connection, breath, and awareness. Our experiences are meant to turn down the noise of the external world so that you can reconnect with your innate wisdom on how to heal from the inside out. We invite you to come find belonging, a sense of being truly seen, and balance within your surroundings and self.
Questions About Holistic Wellness Rituals
What does “holistic wellness” mean?
Holistic wellness is an approach to care that considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than only focusing on the body. It recognizes that nurturing every aspect of our existence creates better overall health and well-being.
Holistic wellness services may incorporate sensory grounding methods, touch, skincare, meditation, breathing practices, contrast therapy, and relaxation for an integrated healing experience.
How is a holistic wellness spa different from a traditional spa?
Traditional spa services usually take an external approach to wellness alone, emphasizing restoration through the treatment of physical symptoms. Holistic wellness spas like Sacred Hour go beyond this with care that also addresses your emotional and spiritual needs, bringing your whole person into alignment.
What are the benefits of hot/cold contrast therapy?
Contrast therapy works by gently interrupting the body’s natural tendency toward homeostasis (the internal balance where all systems rest in harmony). Through a deliberate rhythm of heat and cold, this ritual invites the body to momentarily step out of equilibrium, awakening its innate intelligence to adapt, strengthen, and restore.
As you move between temperatures, blood vessels expand and contract, enhancing circulation and oxygen flow. This process helps flush out toxins, reduce inflammation, and train your nervous system to find calm amid change. Over time, contrast therapy nurtures a deeper resilience (both physical and emotional) while supporting your body’s natural ability to regulate itself.
It is both a challenge and a meditation: a mindful dance between extremes that reminds your body how capable it is of returning to balance, again and again.
Are these rituals safe for everyone?
Yes, our wellness lounge rituals are safe for most guests. We only use time-tested techniques and organic products, and your practitioner will talk to you before your session to understand how to make you as comfortable as possible. If you have any concerns, or you’re currently pregnant, give us a call and we will guide you on the best, most safe rituals for you.
Can I book with a friend or partner?
Yes, our rituals can be experienced with partners or groups. With two or more people, bodywork and skincare services will be done side-by-side in a private suite.
We also offer spa parties for when you want to turn a group experience into a celebration. Spa parties are great for birthdays, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, company retreats, and more. Our spa coordinators and concierge team make set up a breeze. All you have to worry about is bringing yourself and your community. We’ll handle all the details and turn your vision into a joyful and memorable experience.
How should I prepare for my experience?
Before your appointment, we recommend staying hydrated and setting an intention for your session. Maybe that intention is to improve mobility of a specific area, to gain clarity about an important decision, or to set down some worries you’ve been shouldering for too long. No intention is wrong; it should reflect a matter that’s important and personal to you so you can get the most out of your individual healing journey.
